It is important to know that Havelock-Adams is selective when taking a listing. We work in a diligent, focused manner to accomplish a successful outcome for the firms clients. Nationally, the average listing-to-sold ratio is approximately 22%. The listing to sold ratio for Havelock-Adams averages 73%.
Communication
We pride ourselves on being available to our clients and potential buyers. We are constantly screening buyer contacts and keep clients updated and informed via phone and/or email as to the progress of the process.
Duration Of Contract
Havelock-Adams generally accepts six (6) month listing contracts compared to the “warehouse” agencies who require a twelve (12) month commitment. There are no averages for how long it will take for a business to sell. Havelock-Adams places a self imposed incentive to
actively work its listing verses waiting for a prospective buyer to just walk in the door.
Our Commission
For a majority of our clients Havelock-Adams charges a 10% commission based on the ultimate selling price of the business. On large businesses over $1 million a sliding scale is utilized. In those cases where a very small business is listed a minimum fee of $8,000 is charged.
